Carpet Prices

What is a reasonable price per sq metre for a good stair carpet It's ages since I got the last one and the prices vary so much I don't want a cheap one that won't last 5 mins. And where are the best places to go like Carpetright etc. Any experts on here.

The Ashton branch of Select a carpet was sold by Tom Walsh a few years ago. His business partner Chris Glass is still in business at the Hindley branch. You’ll probably find the combination of value for money and a good fitting service from Chris is as good as you’ll get in the area,

Erling. There are many variations in carpets. The weight can vary by a factor of 5 although most domestic carpets are of a much narrower margin. Materials vary from polypropylene to wool. Roll width is also a price determining factor.
Cormar carpets from Ramsbottom is a good manufacturer covering most price points that appeal to shoppers in the Wigan area. My advice is to pop in to Select a carpet in Hindley. Tell Chris how much you wish to pay and look through his Cormar swatches. I’m pretty sure he’ll fix you up.
My mother was one of Tom Walsh’s first customers when he opened up in Ashton donkeys years ago. We’ve been buying carpets from Tom and Chris for over 40 years.
